What’s going on Pico Squad!
It’s another week of growth 🌱 and we’ve been spreading our roots to many communities around the world.
Quick sum-up of what we’re getting into:

Top Community Questions - Answered
As a quick round-up this past week, we’ve updated our Add-On prices, grown our Max community to 2 thousand backers 🎉 and have raised over $285K! 🔥
Some news from our engineering team - We have begun sourcing and procuring components such as LEDs and are getting ready for production. Expecting samples for the wires from next week, which were the only non-finalized component on the PicoMax used for shooting videos and photos, besides the Telescopic Pole.
The new generation Telescopic Poles are made of Aluminum & Silicone for buttery-smooth movement and we hope to have some photos in the next update. In short, we are gearing up for production, even before the campaign comes to an end.
And even more exciting news. Pico 2.0 orders would be shipped in July-august
Now, let’s dive in:
Our Worldwide Features! 😎

Top Community Questions - Answered ❓❗
Pico Max has grown and improved from our previous version of Pico. With anything new, comes curiosity and questions. Here are our community’s most asked questions — Answered!
- Does Pico Max have a battery? What type of battery is used in Pico Max?
From many requests in the original Pico Planter’s community, a battery option was created for the Pico Max. In order to accommodate those who wanted a battery and those who did not want to pay an extra amount (the backers who want to keep the original Pico Planter power system), the battery was made as an optional selection.
The battery is a 10,000mAh Li-Po pack that can power a Pico Max for up to 4 days and can be charged overnight with a phone charger.
- Is there a built-in timer? How does it work?
The Pico Max has a built-in timer, which was one of the main changes. With an RTC (Real Time Clock) chipset powered by a button cell, it has a clock of its own.
The operation is simple - using the single button switch on the bottom, punch in your local time (In Hours) on a 24h clock, and you’re set. The timer wakes up the grow lights at 0600h (6 am) and shuts it off at 2000h (8 pm) every day.
The cool thing is, you can even chain an original Pico Planter to the Pico Max and it will work on the same timing system. But if you’re looking to incorporate a timer system for your Pico Planter without a Pico Max, there is a Timer add-on you can select during the check-out survey process.
- How does the dimming system work?
Pico Max has infrared proximity sensors on the LED unit that dim the LED lights when the plants grow too close to prevent leaf burn and to reduce overall light output. This also alerts the user/grower to either raise the LED unit on the telescopic upright OR prune or harvest the leaves at the top of the canopy.
- What is Daisy-Chaining? How does it work?
Daisy-chaining is a fancy name for connecting multiple units of anything in a sequence, like a chain of daisies. In this context, it means one connection from a power outlet could power-up multiple Picos or Pico Max or a mix of both, minimizing clutter and chords.
The important thing to consider, if you have a Pico Max with an added battery, the battery will not power other Picos within the daisy chain connection, it is designed to conserve the power for itself.
We have lots of exciting things coming up in the coming weeks. Be sure to stay tuned as we’ll be announcing them soon. Until then, take care!
Best,
Your Pico Max Team
